13th annual Labor day Weekend
Festival of Lights
September 5th-September 7th, 2009
This will be the thirteenth year the Lobdell and Bennett Lakes have celebrated Labor Day Weekend with the Festival of Lights. During last years Festival there were more than 40 homes decorated and more than 30 boats participated in the parade.
As always, the Festival of Lights will be held on Labor Day weekend. We plan to continue this tradition on Labor Day weekend and hope this will help your future planning.
The house judging will take place on Saturday, September 5th. To ensure that everyone gets judged, please keep your homes lit until at least midnight.
New for this year: There will be a professional fireworks display on Saturday Night September 5th.
The light parade and boat judging will be on Sunday, September 6th. The rain date for the parade and boat judging will be Monday September 7th.
A lake event like this requires everyone’s participation to be successful. We appreciate those who have in the past taken the time and resources to make it so enjoyable and hope to have more participation this year. We hope the Festival continues to enjoy much success and provide good entertainment for you, your family and friends.
Parade participants and observers are encouraged to proceed safely and congregate at the end of the parade for the Award Ceremonies.

Festival of Lights Sponsorship
Through the generosity of area businesses, we have been able to award prizes to the homes and boats voted as favorites by non-reparian judges. Sponsorship provides a business with advertising in the Lobdell/Bennett Lake Newsletter; the newsletter is distributed to more than 700 homes. Additionally your company name is included on advertising and newsletters associated with the festival.
